- You can do what I do. In my shell-startup I have:

- Alias spinjaz scsiutil [] -m 1

- And if the Jaz has spun down, I just enter "spinjaz <unit-number>" and it
- comes back up. I've learned to not access any of the Jaz volumes if it
- has spun down but to wait until it has spun back up again.

- Same thing could be done with an IconX script or ToolsDaemon menu entry,
- etc.. (SCSIUtil is a SCSI util program you can find on Aminet.)

- You can also eject and reinsert the cartridge which works just as well.
- Since the drive has spun down already, it isn't a big deal to do this.

- The problem is that the Jaz will only spin back up if something tries to
- access it (makes sense). Unfortunately the OS says, oh, that volume isn't
- mounted anymore so I won't try and read it and thus it doesn't cause the
- Jaz to spin back up.
